Congratulations to Ben Shepard on his election to Senior Patrol Leader.
He will be selecting his staff and take office after Court Of Honor on
December 21. He will serve until after summer camp in June 2010. Any
Scout who needs a leadership position for advancement needs to talk to
Ben.
Thanks to Mrs. Baslock for bringing the three UAH hockey players to the
meeting. That met the Citizenship in the World requirement for several
Scouts as well as provided an interesting program.
Court of Honor is scheduled for December 21. Parents need to attend to
hear about summer camp and registering their Scout with Troop 96.
Reminder: there will not be a meeting on December 28. Too many people
will be out of town, but there will be a meeting on Dec 21 and January
4.
Troop 96 will be holding “Scout Blast” Saturday, Dec 5, Sharon Johnston
Park. Mission Control Commander is Pete Shepard who is also presenting
the campfire program. Parents need to drop off the Scouts at 8 a.m.
Saturday in the camping area to set up the events. Pick up will be
Sunday at 9 a.m. Bobby Marsh is feeding them lunch, dinner and
breakfast so all they will need is a sleeping bag, personal gear and a
mess kit. Tents and troop gear will be out there. If anyone is leaving
Saturday night, please remind me.
BJ Marsh completed his Scout Master Conference and will need a Board of
Review Monday. A panel of parents may be needed so if you have time,
please let Mrs. Hicks know.
Committee meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m., Monday and all parents are
welcome to attend. Plans are in the future for a lock in on January 2 to
work on merit badge requirements and troop planning as well as tent
repair. Volunteers are needed who are willing and able to stay up.
