Joe S. for leading the flag retirement ceremony Sat night. Acting SPL Miles
did a great job organizing events to keep the Cubs busy with hiking,
football and fire. Joe L. helped the Boy Scouts on advancement between Cub
Scout sessions with lashings and knots. Evan, Graham, Dustin, Hayden and Mr.
Skillin made the event fun and educational for the Cubs.
If anyone has extra gear that went home with them, bring it to the meeting
and we will try to find the owner.
Committee meeting tonight at 6 p.m. Need a few parents to hang around after
the meeting for Board of Reviews. There are 4 Scouts who need them,
possibly five.
Congratulations to Jonathyn for dancing the male lead in the Alabama Youth

Plans for this weekend include meeting at Epworth at 5 p.m. Friday to load
trailer. Destination: Camp Macoba, New Market. Camp out Friday and have a
campfire with seven Webelos and their parents from Jones Valley. Saturday
morning will involve setting up for Pack 391 skills demonstrations and doing
some service hours around the camp. Bring work clothes for Saturday morning
and a clean set of Class Bs or Class As for Saturday night. Camp with Pack
391 on Saturday and return to Epworth around noon Sunday. Pack 391 is
preparing dinner and Sunday breakfast.
Grubmaster Graham needs $10 from everyone who wants breakfast and lunch on
Saturday. Bring a sack dinner for Friday night.
Congratulations to Jonathyn for his selection in the Huntsville Youth
Ballet’s performance of Nutcracker Suite this weekend. He will be missed on
the campout.
Hopes for a speedy recovery to Bobby Marsh after all his surgery. He went
in for gallbladder and they ended up going for an angioplasty too. He says
he is doing better.
Committee meeting Monday night at 6 p.m. All parents are welcome.
Rechartering will be discussed. Need three parents to stay around after the
committee meeting for boards of review. I have two Scouts, possibly three
if they remember to bring their handbooks.

There will be another pack camping the night before us so we will arrive on
Saturday around 1pm after they leave. Dinner on Saturday and breakfast on
Sunday will be served. We were asking folks at the pack meeting to sign up
to bring chili and stuff that goes with chili for dinner. We will have the
projector setup and watch the SEC championship game for those that are
interested. Also, Boy Scout Troop 96 will be there and do activities with
our pack as well.
If you were planning on bringing an RV, they do have 6 RV sites with water
and electric but you might want to check them out before you bring your RV
up there just to be sure you have enough room and can get in and out of them
okay.
Here are the directions to the camp out:

Thanks for Mr. Skillin and Mr. Drensek for doing the cooking lessons on foil
cooking, backpacking cooking and dutch oven cooking. Mrs. Shepard will be

Scouts voted overwhelmingly to do the trick or treat merit badge Monday
night rather than meet. I’m not sure if requirement counts for physical
fitness or dentistry.
